To each and every one of you here, on this U.S. holiday: THANK YOU for your stories, your advice, your simple “me too” replies. Just knowing that there are others out there who struggle has been so important to me.
So many posts here aren’t just about personal mental health issues, but about how toxic it can be to work in technology, how our bosses, coworkers, and workplaces can exacerbate depression, anxiety, and other issues.
In spite of all that, I’m thankful for technology. Even if I end up leaving software development from burnout, I’ll still find ways to write code. I’m thankful that it’s something I love, thankful for the promise that technology holds, and I refuse to let the current sad state of the industry take that away from me.
Enjoy the holiday!
